Adult Education at CVCC

Throughout the pandemic, we have followed state and county guidelines for meetings. Currently, we are encouraging everyone to wear a mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Please do this for the well-being of others.

We have resumed live Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages. Classes begin at 9am. We currently have two adult Bible classes each Sunday as well as many small groups that meet around the Conejo Valley throughout the week:

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

We’re very grateful to be back into our gathering routines with worship services, Bible classes, and small groups. Live Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages meet each week at 9am. On January 8, we begin a series of classes called “Scripture Up Close.” This is a series you won’t want to miss! Join us to dig deep, learn, be challenged, and grow in your life of faith. If there’s a particular (short) book of the Bible you’d like to see taught in this format, please communicate that to Andy Wall or Chris Heard.

Middle School Pod

This pod meets weekly at the home of Travis M. for a time of study, reflection, prayer, and fellowship. The meeting is from 3:30pm through 5:30pm on Sundays at the church building.

High School Pod

This small group meets weekly on Sundays from 6pm through 7:30pm at the church building throughout the school year.

Monday Night Women’s Bible Study (Class via Zoom)

Join a group of Conejo women via Zoom each Monday at 7pm to pray, encourage one another, engage in study and discussion together. The group is currently doing a textual study of Acts. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office (office@conejochurch.org) or Paula M. for a link for the weekly meeting.

Monday Night Guys’ Group

The focus of this group is on fellowship in all its forms (eating, reading, praying, studying the Word and Christian writings). The group meets weekly on Mondays from 6:30pm until 8pm from September through April. Contact the church office (office@conejochurch.org) or Bob P. to learn more about the group and how to become a part of it.

First Fruits Small Group (Class via Zoom)

Stu and Co W. host “First Fruits,” a small group on helping and encouraging people to grow their own food right where they live. This small group offers very practical information and discusses things like planting schedules, gardening areas, vegetable types, planting, harvesting, and many other topics as we reflect on God’s creation. This small group is applicable for gardeners at all levels and gardens of all sizes. The group will meet virtually via Zoom on the first Tuesday of each month.

Fifth Commandment Small Group (Class via Zoom)

The fifth commandment tells us to “Honor your father and mother.” How do we do that in our adult lives as our parents age, face health challenges, and live hundreds or even thousands of miles away? We don’t have all of the answers, but if these questions resonate, you might want to join us via Zoom for the “Fifth Commandment” group. We meet the last Tuesday of each month to share concerns and challenges regarding our aging parents. We pray for and support one another through the journey.

Hungry / Thirsty Group (Class via Zoom)

Are you hungry and thirsty to grow in Christ and to build stronger relationships in Him? When life is normal and there is no pandemic, this group gathers for Christ-centered conversations, Bible Study based in the gospels, and prayer over dessert and coffee. The group also enjoys a monthly potluck together. Kids classes / childcare are provided on a rotating basis by group members. The group meets on Wednesdays at 7pm to check in with one another and engage in discussion and prayer. TO Life Group (Class via Zoom)

All ages and family stages are welcome. This small group meets weekly on Thursdays beginning at 7pm. If you would like to join in with the group, please contact Bill F. or the church office (office@conejochurch.org).
